"There was an understanding that we were all drowning together."
At an unknown date on an unknown planet, an apparent meteor of catastrophic proportion struck the world and ended it...Except for the sanctuary of Newcomb University. Newcomb University was a high-end research facility with the brightest minds working on a way to save their world from this incoming meteor. While they failed to save their world, they somehow managed to preserve their university in a time loop: the 31 days leading up to the meteor's collision.

Every 31 days, the meteor collides again, and rips open time and space, accidentally tearing people and things away from other universes to populate Newcomb. While the original scholars of Newcomb have long passed, their university is still in beautifully functioning condition, ready to be taken advantage of by the Newcombers. With every meteor strike comes new challenges as new worlds are ripped into, making it as dangerous as it is puzzling to survive the collision. Time acts as both a savior and a curse in this game, dominating life and death alike.
[community profile] newcomb is a dark academia sci-fi cosmic horror panfandom game with themes of paranormal investigation. Characters are stuck in a time loop on a research university's campus. Characters will pick up the roles of students, professors, and faculty as they navigate the mysteries of Newcomb University. Metaphors for mental health and trauma will be aplenty along with themes of the apocalypse, survival, absurdism, conspiracy theories, and extraterrestrial, otherworldly horror and wonders.
